Uhm, why? :S
But, you can skip 1 side of storyline. Choose either the Kurzick or Luxon story, and it will save you 1/3 of "Factions hellmadness"....... Still, why? ! |

They designed factions and nightfall so that you could not be run like you can in prophecies. If you don't have the skill to complete the missions, then you don't deserve to be past it.

The setup of canthan and elona maps however allow capping of elites fairly early on in the game, so there is little time lost to do all missions and cap most outposts. as afterwards yuo can Cap elites u want easily. TIP: if u gather both 10000 faction from the kurzick and/or luxon side then don't spend it, use it to befriend all characters, and then continue with all of them. after that u can trade the faction for allegiance or materials. Ok, I seem to say this a lot anymore but it bears repeating again. (it seems to, anyhow)
Guild wars is a game with a plotline for a reason. It's meant to be followed. it's meant to be played. the goal of the game is not capping elite skills, it's not who can farm the most greens and it's not who can get run closest to the end before hitching a ride and leeching the last 3 missions. If you follow the quests you make enough cash to cover any need you have outside of vanity materials. If you don't have the patience to play through the storyline 9 times, maybe you don't need 9 characters. That said, i will agree that the idea in factions of a blind team up was very poor, particularly that early in the mission series |

I'm still trying to sort this all out. You are talking about ascending in the desert and having only Kaineng and Marketplace. These of course are in two different campaigns. If you are referring to runs in Prophecies, pretty much everything is accessible as a result of a run (whether it be to a town or to complete a mission like Sanctum or THK to get to places like the desert or the Fire Isle). If you are referring to Factions or Nightfall, they changed things around so that running is very minimal. You can't run in Factions like you can in Prophecies. Beating Factions by only completing a minimum of 4 missions won't happen. Once you have done the missions multiple times, you get an idea on strategies and whatnot that you didnt know before that make things so much faster. You'll just have to enjoy the ride like everyone else.
It seems to me that this is either your first character or your first time through. I'm lead to believe this because 99% of people that have gone through the game at least once or even several times with other characters typically know the "shortcuts", "run routes", and what is obtainable in the game. If that is the case, do not get runs or take any shortcuts. You'll miss out on a lot of stuff. - Aldoros of Faydark |
